Here are some of the few qualities of cat breeds to consider when choosing a cat
Suppose you have done your homework and are ready to get a cat for a pet. And you want to choose from a suitable cat breed so you decide to take a look at the different breeds before you make up your mind which breed of cat to get. Here are some tips that could help you in the decision process. I will consider just a few popular breeds, because there are so many breeds.
Domestic shorthair This is the most common breed. It's very active and was bred to help control rodents population at the farm. It's highly energetic especially at night. They come in black, grey, white, calico, tabby, tuxedo, or tortoiseshell because they are a mixture of various breeds. Likely common health problems for this breed include include obesity because they tend to overeat, hyperthyroidism, kidney failure, heart disease. Many of the health problems are a result of obesity and some can be treated. They can be brushed once a week, they also tend to take care of their own fur.
Abyssinian This breed is highly intelligent inquisitive and loves to investigate. It's a medium size cat with lean muscular build. At one year it's fully developed. This breed hates being alone. Despite its has energy level this breed is of relatively low maintenance. They have short fur so they just need occasional grooming. Daily tooth brushing is ideal. This breed appreciates toys and interactive play time. Investing in a cat tree would be a good idea. They are generally healthy however have a few conditions which affect them like periodontal disease, patellar luxation and progressive retinopathy.
Bengal Breed is a cross of Asian leopard cat and the domestic cat. Bengal means Asian leopard cat. These cat have muscular bodies and spotted coats. Small round heads. large eyes and their hinds legs are longer than front legs this gives them a strong but graceful stride. This breed is active intelligent, gentle and affectionate. They unlike other cats love water. Fur is short and need to be groomed once every 1 to 2 weeks. don't shed much. They love to climb. this breed is relatively healthy. They need lots of entertainment if they don't get enough action they can damage household items.
Lykoi This breed gets it's unique appearance from it's wispy, wiry black and white fur together with partial hairlessness. It's also referred to as werewolf cat , wolf cat. This breed is very affectionate, but timid of strangers. This breed loves games and toys which involve problem solving skill. Doesn't like to share toys, but love to bond. This breed doesn't shed a lot and doesn't need brushing. Skin is delicate avoid suing hard bristle brush. Needs more frequent baths. This breed needs a lot of toys, places to climb and explore. This breed has health concern apart from skin problems. Some pure bred cats are prone to develop certain breed specific diseases though. The lykoi is extremely rare if this is the breed you choose get ready for a long wait.
